I am Carrie Wallace, and I am traveling the silk road as a peasant farmer. We are traveling to Xi'an to sell Daddy's crops. I brought my ehru with me on my journey. I have brought this with me because it has been in my family for many generations and I couldn't afford to have anything happen to that while I am gone. It is really hot and humid. The mosquitoes are biting really bad. Mama said it's time for dinner. More tomorrow.

Dear Journal, April 12, 2010
Today we have reached our destination; Xi'an. I am excited and depressed at the same time. Great Grandma has fell ill and is not doing well. I am happy beacause I will have a reunion with my cousin ( Chianne Golden)today at the trade market. Like how Confucious has once stated life is rough. Today, as I can see is going to be filled with surprises. One of those surprises may be me and my cousin playing music for people who are willing to barter sound for items this will benefit my Great Grandmother because we are doing this to get her some medication. I will tell you how it went tomorrow.

The fundraiser went swell. We earned 13 gold and 5 silver coins. This is enough to get her some medication. We traveled all night and soon we found ourselves in Turfan. The oasis is great. We now have water and Grandmothers medication. We sold our prized chillis and made 70 coins! Today was great. See you tomorrow.

Today has been great so far. We earned a prized meal made by the aristocrat's servants! We are now only a short distance from Samarkand. We left so early because we had to catch up with Chianne's family. We are getting Grandma nursed back to health. She is doing well. She may be a little delerious but is doing well. We have just now reached Smarkand and father finally bought me a hound puppy! I named her Princess. Tomorrow morning in Baghdad I am going to meet up with Katie and go to the farmers market. Can't wait.
Carrie
Dear Journal,
WOW! Baghdad was closer than I thought! We only traveld for 4 hours! I have already met up with Katie and we bought food for a giant feast later on in honor of my Grandmother's health. We have already purified water for our dinner and Grandmother is estatic! Tomorrow we shall all head to sea. While we are there we are going to celebrate Kylee's birthday. See you then!

Kylee's party and Grandmas feast was wonderful. Kylee was dressed in an exquisite Chinese dress made of the finest silk given to her by her aristocrat sister Katie. We are all on a ship in the sea as of right now. It took a while but we got Katie to agree to go. Kylee has sold all of her puppies except one in which she plans to keep and name Journey. I sold my prized goat to the merchant to be slaughtered for 90 silver coins! Father sold his crops for 10 coins each and Mama sold hand made goods such as hair bands, gormet foods like soup, and carefully cooked rice. We will be here out at sea for a while enjoying our earnings and savoring our time away. When we get home we all plan to put our journals in some kind of box like structure and burry them for the people of the future to find. That won't be for a while though because we still have a long journey ahead of all of us.
Your Friend,
Carrie Linn Wallace

If woolly mammoths were still alive we wouldn't have all of the plants and small mammals we have today. The mammoths would probably eat them. Our world may also have been changed we may have woolly mammoths for pets or use them for food. They may be a benefit or a diaster hoever I and the world are not sure.
